About Jennifer Dove
My name is Jennifer and I have been creating pottery in both stoneware and porcelain for more than a decade. I graduated with a BA from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. I studied pottery under Regis Brodie at Skidmore and now study under Jill Fishon-Kovachick at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center. Throwing pottery is a passion I have had and developed since I was a child.
I find great pleasure in experimenting with colors, textures and shapes to create a wonderful hands-on experience for my pieces. I find my inspiration from natural wonders around the world, taking their essence and translating it into the look and feel of my pieces: volcanoes, canyons, sunsets and sunrises.
I enjoy decorating with glazing techniques to create a unique visual experience with each of my pottery pieces. I throw my pottery on the wheel, glazing each piece with care using high-fire, salt fire, Raku or Sagger firing techniques. When creating my pottery I also keep in mind that the simple pleasure of holding and examining artwork of this sort is part of its joy.
I'm located in Clifton Park, NY and continue to study with my mentor's Jill Fishon-Kovachick and Regis Brodie at the Saratoga Clay Arts Center in Schuylerville, NY.
